Célio Rocha (Pedro Cardoso) is convinced that God has handed him a task. He must talk his childhood friend Otávio Sabóia (Miguel Falabella), a corrupt man in the construction business, into giving away everything he owns to the poor. Cláudio Torres, making his first feature, follows Célio as he turns up again and again at the door of a man who has no reason to listen.
