Reign Over Me

“Let in the unexpected.”

In New York, several years after the September 11 attacks, Alan Johnson (Don Cheadle) spots his old college roommate Charlie Fineman (Adam Sandler), who lost his wife and daughters that day. Charlie has stopped talking about it and keeps his friend at arm's length, and the two start spending time together again, slowly. Mike Binder films their scenes as ordinary hangouts, letting the friendship carry the weight.
