“The trap is set. The game is on.”

Rudy Duncan (Ben Affleck) walks out of prison with a few days of freedom already spoken for. He takes on the name of his dead cellmate to meet the man's girlfriend, Ashley Mercer (Charlize Theron), and her brother Gabriel (Gary Sinise) pulls him into a casino job in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. John Frankenheimer keeps the story moving on one lie, and Rudy has to keep telling it.
