Rent-a-Cat

“I don't want to stay lonely.”

Sayoko (Mikako Ichikawa) lives alone and spends her days pulling a cart of cats to the doors of lonely people who will pay to borrow one. Naoko Ogigami follows her along the rounds, from one stranger's home to the next, until a young man from her past turns up and unsettles the quiet routine she has built. In the cart, the cats ride beside her, each one a small warm weight waiting for someone to pick it up.
