“It’s 4 a.m. Do you know where your car is?”

Otto Maddox (Emilio Estevez), a young punk in Los Angeles with no job and no plans, gets hired by a car repossession outfit and handed over to the veteran Bud (Harry Dean Stanton). Alex Cox sends them after a '64 Chevy Malibu that has the CIA and talk of aliens circling it. Bud lectures Otto on the repo man's code in the front seat, and Otto listens the way a kid listens to an uncle he is starting to trust.
