Requiem for a Dream

“A look into addiction and how it overcomes the mind and body.”

Four people in Coney Island each chase a dream they believe is a few weeks from coming true, and each has found a drug to take the edge off the waiting. Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn) waits on a call from Tappy Tibbons (Christopher McDonald), while her son Harry (Jared Leto) and Marion (Jennifer Connelly) plan a future. Darren Aronofsky cuts in fast, tight bursts, and the pupil of an eye widens until it fills the frame.
