Requiem for a Heavyweight

(1962)Directed by Ralph Nelson95 minDrama
“The world of Mountain Riviera... the fast buck... the angry men... the lonely woman!”

In 1962, after a brutal loss in the ring, 37-year-old Lewis "Mountain" Rivera (Anthony Quinn) hears from the doctors that he can never fight again. He has a scarred face and no other trade, and his manager Maish Rennick (Jackie Gleason) is the one man still around him. Ralph Nelson stays close on the two of them, and what binds them is old loyalty, strained by what each owes the other.
