Resurrecting the Champ

“Based on a true story, that was based on a lie.”

A homeless man in Denver, beaten by a group of kids, turns out to be a boxing legend everyone believed was dead. Erik Kenman Jr. (Josh Hartnett), a sportswriter living in the shadow of his famous father, steps in to help and finds the story that could make his name. Rod Lurie follows Erik and the man who calls himself Champ (Samuel L. Jackson), as the reporter's hunger for the piece starts to tangle with the son he is trying to be at home.
