Resurrection

“It's not supposed to happen. Be there when it does.”

Edna (Ellen Burstyn) comes out of a car crash that kills her husband and goes home to a small town where everyone knows her. Daniel Petrie follows what happens when people learn she can heal, as the sick and desperate start arriving at her door while others call her a fraud or a threat. Cal (Sam Shepard) wants her to be a prophet, Esco (Richard Farnsworth) only wants her to be well, and the film treats belief as the thing people need before they can prove it.
