“Back for the rest!”

Chou Chun Chi (Gordon Liu Chia-hui) is an actor who wants to make good on a promise to the workers of a dye factory, whose pay has been cut by 20% after the owner brings in Manchu thugs to push up production. The workers had hired him to pose as a Shaolin priest, and the owner exposed him as a fraud and punished everyone involved. Lau Kar-leung sends him to the temple to be taken on as a pupil, and Chou goes in carrying the guilt of having let them down.
