“The American Dream Isn't Free”

Sonny (Justin Chon) and Steven (Kevin Wu) come to Flushing, Queens as young immigrants in the 1980s, wanting a way up from the cramped rooms and low-paid work they know. The gang they join is called the Green Dragons, and the money it offers is better than anything the neighborhood has to give. Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo track the bond between Sonny and Steven as the gang pulls both of them deeper in.
