Revenge of the Pink Panther

“Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the movies.”

In 1978, a body turns up in a car that has been shot off the road, and the world, including Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom), takes it for Chief Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers). Clouseau is very much alive, and being officially dead gives him room to find out who tried to kill him. Blake Edwards builds the film around Sellers's final turn as Clouseau, staging each disaster with a straight face.
