Riceboy Sleeps

So-Young (Choi Seung-yoon) moves to the Canadian suburbs in the 1990s, a Korean single mother raising her son Dong-Hyun (Ethan Hwang) on her own. Anthony Shim draws the film partly from his own childhood, and it follows the two of them as the boy grows into a teenager. So-Young wants a better life for him than the one she left in South Korea, and she keeps working toward it.
