Ricki and the Flash

“Get Ready for Ricki.”

Ricki Rendazzo (Meryl Streep) left her family years ago to chase rock-and-roll stardom, and the question hanging over her is what she gave up for it. A call brings her back home to Pete (Kevin Kline) and the grown children she walked away from, including Julie (Mamie Gummer). Jonathan Demme and writer Diablo Cody set a mother's long-delayed attempt at amends against the cost of a dream she chose over the people who needed her.
