Ride

“When her son dropped out, she dropped in.”

Jackie (Helen Hunt) flies across the country to California after her son Angelo (Brenton Thwaites) drops out of college to surf. She is not there to be welcomed, and she brings her worry with her. Helen Hunt, directing her own script, puts Jackie beside Ian (Luke Wilson), a surf instructor who urges her to let Angelo chase what he wants, and the risk is the mother and son's own closeness.
