Ride the High Country

“Showdown in the High Sierra!”

The old West is giving way to automobiles and city clothes when Steve Judd (Joel McCrea), a former lawman gone gray, takes a job guarding a shipment of gold out of a mining camp. He brings in his longtime friend Gil Westrum (Randolph Scott) to help, and Sam Peckinpah follows the two of them up into the mountains. Steve trusts Gil completely, and Gil keeps his own counsel.
