Rikyu

Rikyu (Rentaro Mikuni) is an aging tea master in the late 1500s, teaching the way of tea to Hideyoshi Toyotomi (Tsutomu Yamazaki). Hideyoshi is a headstrong warlord who fought his way to the top and now rules a unified Japan. Hiroshi Teshigahara adapts Yaeko Nogami's novel and keeps the camera still and patient, so the tea room gets the same care as the court.
