“There's nothing like a woman to come between men!”

Jefferson T. "Jefty" Robbins (Richard Widmark) owns a roadside night club and wants the new singer he has hired, Lily Stevens (Ida Lupino), for himself. Jean Negulesco keeps Pete Morgan (Cornel Wilde), Jefty's manager and oldest friend, in the room as Lily's attention drifts toward him instead.
