“The truck driver plays games. The hitchhiker plays games. And the killer is playing the deadliest game of all!”

A long, empty highway across Australia, and Pat Quid (Stacy Keach), an American truck driver, hauling a load of meat from town to town with only a dog and his own running commentary for company. Women are turning up dead along the same route, and Pat notices a green van that keeps appearing in his mirrors. Richard Franklin sends him after it with a young hitchhiker, Hitch (Jamie Lee Curtis), and Pat can't leave the question alone.
