“Friendship doesn't have an off switch”

Frank (Frank Langella) lives alone, walks to the library most days, and has a soft spot for the librarian, Jennifer (Susan Sarandon). His grown children worry, so one of them, Hunter (James Marsden), sets up a caretaker robot (voiced by Peter Sarsgaard) that cooks his meals and keeps the house clean. Frank grumbles at first, then starts treating the machine as company, and his old trade as a thief wakes up again.
