Dog lives alone in New York City in 1985, and he builds himself a companion, a robot he takes to the beach one summer afternoon. Then Robot malfunctions on the sand, and Dog has no choice but to leave him there. Pablo Berger tells it without a word of dialogue, and the whole film rests on how one lonely animal and one machine hold on to each other.
