“How fast can you swim?”

A boat of tourists on a river cruise through the Australian outback strands itself on a tiny mud island, with an enormous crocodile circling the water around them. Kate Ryan (Radha Mitchell) and Pete McKell (Michael Vartan) are among the group, and Greg McLean keeps them pinned in the open as the dark comes down. The tide is rising, the island is shrinking, and every one of them has to reach the bank before it goes under.
