Joaquín Góñez (José Sacristán) is a novelist in his sixties who sits down to remember his wild years in Buenos Aires, the old friends he ran with, and what loyalty cost them. Always at the center of it is his mother, Roma (Susú Pecoraro), and the close, complicated bond the two of them kept. Adolfo Aristarain lets the past arrive the way it does for an older man, in pieces that cut in without warning.
