Roma

“There are periods in history that scar societies and moments in life that transform us as individuals.”

Mexico City, 1970. In the Colonia Roma neighborhood, Cleo Gutiérrez (Yalitza Aparicio) works as a live-in housekeeper for an upper-middle-class family, helping Sofía (Marina de Tavira) raise four children while her husband is away for an extended period. Alfonso Cuarón draws on his own childhood on these streets. Over the two years that follow, the household Cleo keeps running starts to come apart around her.
