“AN ORGY OF BEAUTY, SONG AND LAUGHTER!”

Eddie (Eddie Cantor) is a kind-hearted young man run out of his corrupt hometown of West Rome, Oklahoma. He falls asleep and wakes in ancient Rome, where he is pulled into court intrigue and Frank Tuttle's gleaming black-and-white spectacle, with Busby Berkeley's dance numbers and the Goldwyn Girls. Now he is Oedipus, caught in a murder plot against Emperor Valerius (Edward Arnold), and he is the one standing near the throne.
