Romance on the High Seas

“Romance and Laughter...under a Rio moon!”

Elvira Kent (Janis Paige) suspects her husband of cheating, so she hands her cruise tickets to Georgia Garrett (Doris Day), a singer who agrees to sail in her place. Michael Kent (Don DeFore), just as suspicious of his wife, has already hired a private eye, Peter Virgil (Jack Carson), to follow her aboard. Doris Day makes her film debut here, and Busby Berkeley staged the numbers, among them "It's Magic," which earned an Oscar nomination for Original Song.
