Romper Stomper

“You've never seen anything like it.”

In the blue-collar suburbs of Melbourne, a gang of neo-Nazi skinheads led by Hando (Russell Crowe) spends its days hunting local Vietnamese, whom they blame for taking what belongs to them. Geoffrey Wright's debut follows the gang as the Vietnamese begin to fight back and a young woman named Gabe (Jacqueline McKenzie) joins them. Underneath the violence is a plain question of what a group like this is built on: the need to belong, and someone to hate.
