A New York apartment on a spring evening, just after dark. Brandon Shaw (John Dall) and Phillip Morgan (Farley Granger) have invited their former teacher Rupert Cadell (James Stewart) to a dinner party, along with several guests who don't yet know what the two men have done. Hitchcock films the entire night in long unbroken takes, trapping us in the apartment as Cadell grows suspicious and the two killers begin to fracture under the weight of their secret.
