Rosewood
“In 1923, a black town in Florida was burned to the ground, its people murdered because of a lie. Some escaped and survived because of the courage and compassion of a few extraordinary people. This film is for them.”
In Florida in 1923, a white woman's lie sets off a mob that comes for the Black town of Rosewood. Mann (Ving Rhames), a stranger who has just ridden in, finds himself beside Sylvester Carrier (Don Cheadle), a resident ready to defend his family, and John Wright (Jon Voight), the white storekeeper who still counts the town as his own. John Singleton keeps the three of them tied together by the work of getting people out alive.
