Jack Rhodes (Burt Reynolds), a gentleman jewel thief, sets his sights on $30 million in uncut gems and finds himself working alongside the equally skilled Gillian Bromley (Lesley-Anne Down). Chief Inspector Cyril Willis (David Niven) is already watching them. The people in this film live among wealth and treat it as an ordinary fact of life, and the gems are simply the next thing to be taken.
