'Round Midnight

“The music and the magic come together...”

Francis Borler (François Cluzet) is a young Parisian too broke to buy a glass of wine, so he stands outside the Blue Note in 1959 and listens through the door. Inside, Dale Turner (Dexter Gordon), an aged and ailing tenor saxophonist, coaxes one long wail from his horn. Bertrand Tavernier leaves the two of them there, the man at the window glass and the man under the lights, with only the music between them.
