Ruby Bridges

“She went to school... and taught the nation a lesson.”

In 1960, a test score sends six-year-old Ruby Bridges (Chaz Monet) to William Frantz Elementary in New Orleans, the only Black child among four chosen who is sent there. Her father Abon (Michael Beach) fears what that choice will bring, while her mother Lucille (Lela Rochon) believes the school is her chance. Euzhan Palcy tells it at a child's height, keeping Ruby's small steps and what she sees along the way at the center.
