Ruby Gentry

“So dangerous...destructive...deadly to love!”

Ruby Gentry (Jennifer Jones), a poor young woman from the North Carolina backwoods, marries a wealthy man she does not love while still carrying a torch for Boake Tackman (Charlton Heston). King Vidor sets her marriage against the swamps and small-town gossip of a southern Gothic world. Ruby has traded her name and her freedom for money, and the man she really wants lives close enough to see every day.
