Rudo & Cursi

“Even when your luck runs out, some things never change.”

Out on a banana plantation, a stranger watches two stepbrothers kick a ball around and decides one of them is worth taking to Mexico City. Tato (Gael García Bernal) would rather be a singer, though he can't hold a note, and Beto (Diego Luna) is happy right where he is. Carlos Cuarón, in his first feature, sets the brothers against each other, since only one can go and neither wants to lose the other.
