Runaway Train

“Desperate, and determined to survive.”

Oscar "Manny" Manheim (Jon Voight) and the younger Buck (Eric Roberts) break out of a brutal prison in the dead of winter and climb aboard a freight train. Then the engineer goes down, and Sara (Rebecca De Mornay), a railway worker, is trapped with them while the head of security, Ranken (John P. Ryan), closes in. Andrei Konchalovsky works from an old Akira Kurosawa script, and the film ends on the three of them riding a locomotive with no one at the controls.
