Rustin

(2023)Directed by George C. Wolfe108 min · PG-13Drama, History
“Own your power.”

In 1963, Bayard Rustin (Colman Domingo) has just months to organize a march of a hundred thousand people on Washington, and the movement's own leaders keep trying to push him out because he is openly gay. A. Philip Randolph (Glynn Turman) backs him, while Roy Wilkins (Chris Rock) and others would rather he stay out of sight. George C. Wolfe fills the film with crowded offices, ringing phones and arguments, so the work feels like a daily scramble.
