Rustlers' Rhapsody

(1985)Directed by Hugh Wilson88 min · PGAction, Comedy, Western
“Rex O'Herlihan. The great big Western Hero. To a lawless land he brought truth, justice, some fancy riding and wonderful outfits.”

In a black-and-white Western of the 1930s and 40s, Rex O'Herlihan (Tom Berenger) rides out with his sidekick Peter (G.W. Bailey), a dancing horse, and a closet of fancy shirts. Hugh Wilson, who wrote and directed, sends him into a color Western where the other characters know the conventions of the genre as well as he does. Rex still sings, still plays the good guy, and still means every word of it.
