Why would two people give up their families to marry in secret, and what does that do to a love that has only ever lived in daydreams? Aditya Sehgal (Vivek Oberoi) and Suhani Sharma Sehgal (Rani Mukerji) run away from parents who oppose them and set up a home on love alone. Shaad Ali, directing his first film from a Mani Ratnam script, follows the two of them as the small daily troubles of that home begin to press in.
