Safe

“In the 21st century nobody will be… Safe.”

Carol White (Julianne Moore) keeps a tidy house in the San Fernando Valley in 1987, and then she starts coughing and bleeding from the nose, and no doctor can say why. Todd Haynes watches her from a distance, a woman growing quieter in rooms that were already quiet. Her husband Greg (Xander Berkeley) stands close by, yet the two of them have never talked much, and her sickness widens that gap.
