In Providence, Rhode Island, Samuel (Sam Rockwell) and Eddie (Steve Zahn) are lounge singers with no talent and no audience. The local hoodlums mistake them for a pair of major league safe crackers and press them into a job, which puts them in the way of the real professionals. John Hamburg lets the two of them lean on each other through every bad idea, each trusting the other to know what to do next.
