“Their dramatic story can now be told!”

After Tobruk falls, Sgt. Joe Gunn (Humphrey Bogart) drives his Lulu Belle tank south across Libya, picking up a ragged handful of Allied stragglers along the way. Zoltan Korda keeps them moving through the heat and dust until they reach a dry well with a little water left in it. A German Afrika Korps battalion is marching toward the same well, and the men who hold it are the only ones who will drink.
