Yves Saint Laurent (Gaspard Ulliel) is the most celebrated designer in Paris in 1967, with his partner Pierre Bergé (Jérémie Renier) running the house behind him. Bertrand Bonello follows him through a decade of new freedom, the nights out with Jacques de Bascher (Louis Garrel) a long way from the sketching table. Each year the work takes a little more of him, and the pleasure that was supposed to feed it takes the rest.
