Salaam Bombay!

Krishna (Shafiq Syed), a boy left at a circus, cannot go home until he earns 500 rupees to pay for the motorbike he wrecked in anger. He ends up in a Bombay slum, running tea and errands as Chaipau among the pimps, dealers and sex workers who share his street. Mira Nair follows him through the Golub household, where Manju (Hansa Vithal) and Sola Saal (Chanda Sharma) become the nearest thing he has to family.
