Salomé

At the palace of Herod (Mitchell Lewis), Tetrarch of Judea, a banquet is underway while the prophet Jokaanan (Nigel De Brulier) is kept shut away below. Salomé (Alla Nazimova) is Herod's stepdaughter, and he offers her anything she wants if she will dance for him. Charles Bryant stages Wilde's play on an artificial, ornamented set, and the actors move and pose like figures in a drawing.
