Salome's Last Dance
“Notorious, scandalous, Wilde!”
On Guy Fawkes Night, 1892, Oscar Wilde (Nickolas Grace) and his lover Lord Alfred Douglas slip into a London brothel, where owner Alfred Taylor (Stratford Johns) has a surprise ready. The authorities have banned Wilde's play Salome, so Taylor and the house's strange residents will stage it for him alone. Ken Russell has them take the parts, Glenda Jackson doubling as Herodias, while Wilde sits in the audience watching his own words.
