Salvador

“Dateline: 1980, El Salvador. Correspondent: Richard Boyle, Photojournalist - Guatemala, Iran, Vietnam, Chile, Belfast, Lebanon, Cambodia...”

In 1980, no one in El Salvador can say who is killing whom, and the bodies keep turning up anyway. Richard Boyle (James Woods), an American journalist, drives in with his friend Doctor Rock (Jim Belushi) and ends up tangled with both the guerrillas and the military dictatorship while trying to get his girlfriend Maria (Elpidia Carrillo) and her children out. Oliver Stone shoots it in a rough, grainy style, closer to a newsreel than a studio picture.
