Salvador (Puig Antich)
A young man sits in a Barcelona cell in 1974, waiting out the last months of Franco's dictatorship, and the film starts from the question of how he got there. Salvador Puig Antich (Daniel Brühl) is a political prisoner facing death by garrote, and Oriol Arau (Tristán Ulloa) is the lawyer trying to keep him alive. Manuel Huerga stays close to Brühl's face and the waiting in the cell, and lets the countdown set the pace.
