Same Old Song

In Paris in 1997, Odile Lalande (Sabine Azéma) is hunting for a bigger apartment, while her younger sister Camille (Agnès Jaoui), newly finished with her doctoral thesis in history, leads tourists through the city. Alain Resnais has the characters break into snatches of recorded pop songs, mouthing the words as if their own feelings had run out. Simon (André Dussollier) keeps joining Camille's tours, hoping she will notice him, though her mind is on Marc.
