Samson and Delilah

(1949)Directed by Cecil B. DeMille134 minRomance, Drama, History
“HISTORY'S MOST BEAUTIFUL AND TREACHEROUS WOMAN!”

Samson (Victor Mature), an Israelite strongman, turns down the love of Delilah (Hedy Lamarr), a Philistine woman who is not used to being refused. Her wounded pride sets her against him, and the Saran of Gaza (George Sanders) is ready to use her anger. DeMille stages it all in the big Technicolor manner of a Paramount epic, with every feeling pitched at the scale of the sets.
