Sand Castle

“Home is a war away.”

It is the occupation of Iraq, and a squad of U.S. soldiers has been sent to a small village that has lost its water. Matt Ocre (Nicholas Hoult), a young Army private, falls in under Sergeant Harper (Logan Marshall-Green) and Captain Syverson (Henry Cavill) for what looks like a plain repair job. Fernando Coimbra shoots the village in flat, bleached sunlight and gives the work no relief from the heat.
